GU Honors Bahraini Women's Day - President for a Day Initiative

Gulf University celebrated Bahraini Women's Day on December 1st, 2025 by launching the fifth edition of the "President for a Day" initiative. This annual program demonstrates the institution's dedication to empowering women, aligning with directives from His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and Her Royal Highness Princess Sabeeka bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa.

Second-year Law student Shahad Hesham Al Isa received the honor of serving as University President for one day. The selection process evaluated eight candidates based on academic excellence, leadership qualities, and community involvement. During her tenure, Shahad met with University President Professor Dr. Mohanad Al Firas to discuss administrative policies and organizational procedures.

Her decisions as acting president included several women-focused initiatives: honoring female employees with a half-day off, allocating funds for the Maraee 2025 Exhibition, and arranging transportation for students and staff to attend national football matches in Doha.

"I am deeply proud of the trust Gulf University has placed in me and for granting me this leadership experience, which allowed me to understand administrative processes and decision-making."
