The center is working on the following projects as part of the center Operational Plan 2023/2024:
Expand digital technologies & resources: Accessibility & inclusiveness
Enhance the utilization and accessibility of technology in teaching and learning by both faculty and students.
Tasks
- Improve faculty and students experience in accessibility of data between LMS and CMS (i.e. Moodle and Campus), through enhancing the integration between both systems.
Provide advanced training for using digital technologies in teaching-learning, research and campus operation.
Tasks
- Deliver a training workshop relevant to Digital Transformation Projects by DTC in collaboration with Staff Development Unit.
- Create IT event for the technologies in teaching, learning and campus operations.
Ensure consistent implementation of teaching and learning technologies within digitization approach and practice.
Tasks
- Develop a mobile application for students to improve their experience with teaching and learning by providing digital services and enhanced features.
Enhance business continuity: Risk management and sustainability
Review the business continuity framework.
Tasks
- Submit benchmark, review, and findings to Business Continuity Committee.
- Finding areas relevant to sustainable IT and technology resources.
- Put the areas found in discussion and roadmap for implementation (i.e. Build in-house CMS).
- Work together with committee members to update the business continuity framework.
Improve effectiveness of university services: Innovations and digitization
Enhance provision of specialist labs and subscription of software for research work and experiments.
Tasks
- Work with Academic Affairs and deans for the requirements to establish a research lab and relevant software/subscriptions.
Activate Innovative & Technological Learning Unit to embed innovation in teaching and learning.
Tasks
- Work with President and Academic Affairs to benchmark and establish a metaverse lab, platform and devices.
- Implement AI features in CMS to automate and predict.
Implement automation in university management and campus operations.
Tasks
- Implement Microsoft Intune to push apps/software automatically to all computers.
- Develop a utility application to automate the exams seat arrangements of students randomly.
- Develop a utility to automate Students Election Process.
- Implement Bulk email marketing campaigns tool.
- Implement an application for exams post moderation.
Promote sustainable resources: Green campus
Enhance initiatives towards digitization, smart campus, environment friendly technology and infrastructure.
Tasks
- Transform university technology infrastructure to Microsoft Azure Cloud.
- To digitize all university operations as part of Campus Management System, Office 365 apps and other software.
Build open minded and engaged digital community of stakeholders: inside and outside the university
Share documents and update information with stakeholders in digital platform.
Tasks
- Update IT Policy to ensure stakeholders update all relevant documents on SharePoint.
- Create reminders/insights to validate uploaded/missing documents for each college/unit.
Foster campus development: Expansion and renovation
Implement campus development initiatives consistently.
Tasks
- Computer Lab on the 1st Floor.
- Digital Hub for innovation.
Transform student experiences: Digital and real world learning
Monitor the student life cycle in digital platform.
Tasks
- Define the project objectives and scope that clearly outline the purpose of the student portfolio module and specify the features required of developed as a separate plugin.
- Create wireframes and prototypes to visualize the user interface and user experience of the portfolio module.
- Work with Academic Affairs and Deans to provide more software for each academic program.
